Onboarding new members so outreach is not wasted

What a new joiner should see in the first minute, and the friction that loses them.

Every campaign ends at the same place: someone opens your server for the first time. What they see in the next sixty seconds decides whether the spend mattered.

The first screen

  • One sentence saying what the server is for
  • The offer from the DM, repeated and pinned
  • One obvious next action
  • Visible recent activity

Cut the gates

Multi step verification, rule reaction chains and role pickers all lose people. Keep one verification step if you need it for moderation and defer everything else.

Be present on launch day

A greeting from a human in the first hour is worth more than any bot. Schedule someone to be around while the campaign is delivering.

Check the drop off

Compare joins to members still present after seven days. If that ratio is poor the problem is onboarding, not outreach, and more DMs will not fix it.
